The surrounding külliye once held schools, a hospital, and public kitchens, and the cemetery behind the mosque shelters the türbe (tombs) of Suleiman and his wife Hürrem Sultan. Entry is free, and respectful non-Muslim visitors are welcome outside prayer times.
