Why fixed-price beats the taxi meter in Antalya

A real receipt comparison from one of our own dispatchers, who tried both for a month.

Share

Our head dispatcher took 10 hotel-airport runs by airport taxi over four weeks and compared the receipts. Here is what he found.

The headline number

Average airport-taxi cost from a Lara hotel to AYT: €34. Our fixed price for the same route: €25. The taxi was 70% more expensive on average across 10 rides.

Why the spread

  • Night surcharge (00:00-06:00) — adds 50% to the meter.
  • Airport entry fee — added on arrival, €3-5.
  • Luggage fee — €2 per case at driver's discretion.
  • "Slow traffic" — the meter runs on time, not distance, in jams.

When the meter wins

A short single-passenger run inside Antalya city (say Kaleiçi to Konyaaltı) under 6 km can be cheaper on the meter — €5-7 vs our €25 minimum. We do not recommend our service for those short hops.
