The best-preserved Roman amphitheatre in the world — still hosting opera nights every summer.
Aspendos sits 8 km inland from Belek and is the most complete Roman theatre standing today — built in 155 AD under Marcus Aurelius. The stage wall, 96 m wide and 22 m tall, still retains its decorated niches. The acoustics are so perfect that a whispered word on stage carries to the back row. Every June and July Aspendos hosts the Opera & Ballet Festival.
