Akdeniz University Hospital is the largest tertiary teaching hospital on Turkey's southern coast, set on the leafy Konyaaltı campus about 21 km from Antalya Airport. It is best known for its Prof. Dr. Tuncer Karpuzoğlu Organ Transplant Centre — Turkey's first and most comprehensive — alongside strong oncology, nuclear medicine, cardiology and reproductive-medicine programmes. The hospital pioneered Turkey's first face transplant and the world's first uterus transplant from a deceased donor.
