Private Transfer toChimera Eternal Flames
Natural gas vents burning non-stop for 2,500 years on the Çıralı mountainside — the original Chimera myth.
Chimera Eternal Flames
Chimera (Yanartaş) is a natural methane-vent phenomenon on the slopes of Mount Olympos — dozens of small flames burn continuously through cracks in the rock, fed by underground gas seepage. The ancient Greeks built a temple to Hephaestus here, believing the fire-breathing Chimera monster lived in the mountain. Best visited after dark when the flames are dramatic; the 30-min uphill walk from the car park is manageable for all ages with a torch.
