Türkiye's first slow city by the Aegean.
Seferihisar is Türkiye's first Cittaslow, where Sığacık's castle lanes, an Ionian wine god's temple at Teos, and unhurried market mornings set the rhythm. A private transfer from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) reaches it in under an hour, dropping you straight into the slow life.
Unhurried, salt-aired, and genuinely lived-in. Mornings smell of brewing tea and citrus; afternoons drift between a fortress harbour, olive groves, and quiet coves; evenings mean grilled fish, local wine, and conversations that never check the clock. It feels like the Aegean before the crowds found it.
The standout features that set Seferihisar apart from every other Antalya region.

Seferihisar is about 47 km southwest of İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB). A private transfer takes roughly 55 minutes door-to-door via the coastal road, the simplest option since direct public transport is limited and slow.
In 2009 it became Türkiye's first Cittaslow, an international 'slow city' movement begun in Italy. It commits to protecting local food, seeds, crafts, and an unhurried pace, with touches like solar street lamps and a no-middleman producers' market.
Sığacık is a fishing village built inside roughly 500-year-old castle walls, with cobbled lanes, a harbour and Teos Marina, a weekend producers' market, and boat trips to nearby bays. The ancient city of Teos and Akkum beach are a short drive away.
Teos sits just a few kilometres from Sığacık and about 5 km from Seferihisar's centre, an easy short drive. Among its highlights is the Temple of Dionysus, the largest temple of the wine god in Asia Minor.
April through October is ideal, with May–June and September–October offering warm, calm weather around 22–27°C and fewer crowds. Visit in November to catch the mandarin harvest and festival, the town's most fragrant season.
