Ölüdeniz is the beach on every Turkey postcard: a pale shingle spit curling around the Blue Lagoon, a sheltered pool of impossibly calm turquoise water at the foot of pine-covered mountains near Fethiye. The lagoon itself sits inside the paid Ölüdeniz Nature Park (Ölüdeniz Tabiat Parkı), while the long Blue Flag Belcekız beach next door is free and open to all. Above it all rises Babadağ: tandem paragliders launch from 1,969 m — the cable car does the climbing — and land right on the beach promenade, while the Lycian Way, Turkey's great long-distance trail, begins just up the hill. Getting there is easy: Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 65 km away, roughly 70 minutes by road, and a private SooTransfer starts at €55 in a six-seat Eco Van, fixed price quoted up front.
