Its shallow, flat-water bay at Surf Paradise (Çark beach) combines waist-deep water with the steady Meltemi wind from May to September, ideal for both beginners and pros. It hosts international PWA races and draws windsurfers and kitesurfers from around the world.

Alaçatı is known for its restored 19th-century Greek stone houses, cobbled bougainvillea lanes and boutique hotels, plus a celebrated food scene of mastic-gum desserts, wild-herb mezes and the annual Ot Festival, a lively Saturday market and its historic stone windmills.

The whole Çeşme peninsula is close by: Çeşme Castle and old harbour, the thermal-warmed shallows of Ilıca beach, the Aya Yorgi and Delikli Koy bays, and boat tours from the marina. Ferries from Çeşme port also reach the Greek island of Chios in about an hour.
